From October 3 to 16, 2025, Albania will host one of the world’s most prestigious youth chess events: the World Youth Chess Championship for Boys and Girls in the U14, U16, and U18 categories. This global spectacle will bring to our country the rising stars of the royal game.

So far, more than 720 players from 72 nations have confirmed their participation. Prestigious federations such as those of Germany, Italy, the USA, India, China, Kazakhstan, and Russia will compete in Albania with their finest young talents.
Grand Blue FAFA Resort – The Heart of the Championship
The official venue will be the Grand Blue FAFA Resort, FIDE-certified and renowned for hosting elite international competitions. The resort will welcome over 1,000 participants – players, trainers, arbiters, and officials – transforming Albania’s coastline into the world epicenter of chess for two weeks.
